There are several major baby photo contests out on the net, most of which are free to enter. Your best bet to find a baby photo contest site to enter would be to go to Google and search for ‘baby photo contest + YOUR COUNTRY’. The rules for each contest are often different, but many will only allow entries from certain countries.

If you have a photo that you are thinking of entering into a baby photo contest, you should always make sure to check that any contest that you enter doesn’t prohibit you from submitting that same photo elsewhere.

One of the best tips that we can give you is to make sure everything is in focus and the photo quality is high. Judges like to be able to see everything, and have the subject (your baby) in good lighting. If you have a photo that will make the judges laugh you should consider submitting that one.

I know the last post on the chances of winning a baby photograph contest ended up without a decent answer, but this one at least sort of answers the question. For free to enter baby photo contests you should typically expect a lower chance of winning, but this doesn’t always mean a lower top prize.

This contest from Great American Photo Contest is free to enter (just have to submit the photos and give your details) and has a prize of $2,500.00. They may subject you to some adverts while you enter your photos but the prize is quite significant.

Of course the easy way to work out the probibility of winning a free baby photo contest, assuming all the photos are equally as good in the judges eyes is just 1 out of how many entries there are. But it is never that easy. First you don’t know how many entries are in the contest. They can vary from under 100 to many, many thousands.

Then the bigger issue is that not all photos are equal. It isn’t a random lucky dip – it is the best baby photo that wins. So really this question is very hard to answer. Sorry for such a pointless post!

We have to say that generally photos that you take yourself have more chance of winning. Studio or professional photos just aren’t that exciting and when judges have hundreds of photos to go through, when half all look the same (all studio/professional photographs look the same) it doesn’t really give you much chance of winning.

Proud parents can enter their children and babies into baby photo contests, in order to win the big prize. The prizes vary, but it is important to make the best good impression that you can with your baby photos. Here are the 5 hottest tips to increase you chance of winning the grand prize and becoming first!

Tip Number 1: Read The Rules. It is suprising how many parents don’t read the rules. If you slip up it could eliminate you from the contest straight away. Spend five minutes reading every rule and making sure you under stand it

Tip Number 2: Don’t use make up on a baby. Judges generally can tell if make up has been used and in our experience they don’t like it. So don’t go and put any make up on your baby for its portfolio photo!

Tip Number 3: Pay attention to the lighting. You could even get some decent books of amazon on how to take good photos. Lighting is key! Make sure it is bright, but not over exposed.

Tip Number 4: Make sure your baby is in focus Similar to tip #3, but so many parents submit out of focus photos just because it is a funny or unique photo. None of that matters if it is out of focus!

Tip Number 5: Submit high quality photos. Don’t just save the small resolution photos from a facebook album – make sure they are full size. If you are entering online they may have a limit on how big image you can submit. Try and make it as close to it (but not over) as possible. This means the photo is going to look as big as possible for the judges. Never just go and enlarge an image though! It loses quality if you make a small image bigger!
