I think a lot of parents are worried that they are wasting their time with baby photo contests. Obviously the companies who run the contests have to make money, and at the face of it no company can turn a profit just from letting people submit their baby photos. But of course they want to find parents to do some market research. You can always opt out of this. For companies though it is a really easy way to make sure they know you are a real parent. So it boils down to advertising. When you enter a baby photo contest take note of any adverts you see on the entry page. Once you submit your entry you will probably see more banner ads on that page too.

When you enter a baby photo contest to win a prize for the cutest kid it is often important to know your chances of winning. If loads of other people enter their children into the contest then you probably don’t stand a chance of winning. But sometimes these contests have far few people enter than you would think. A lot of people can’t be bothered to actually enter the contest. The worst type of contest are the ones that just require one photo and an email address. Anyone can enter those.

The best types to enter are the ones that require more details (most people see the form and can’t be bothered. It is a sad fact but true!). If the contest asks for a caption then that is even better – most people just describe the photo. Put some thought into your baby photo contest entry caption because they make all the difference.

In some baby photo contests as well as being judged on the photo itself, the competition organisers let you enter a short (1 sentence normally) caption. All baby photo contests vary, but I am pretty certain that most companies put a lot of weight on the photo caption. If it makes them laugh, you probably have a much higher chance of winning that grand prize.

Some of the baby photo contests on the net award their winners based on the number of votes the photo entries have. A lot of people ask their friends and family to vote for them. Some cheaters will actually go out of their way to buy votes. While this is 100% cheating, and probably breaking the rules of the contest, some people will still do it. It is often on radio station contests that they decide the winner based on the highest number of votes. If you are feeling unethical, you can probably buy votes at fiverr. On fiverr people will offer to do almost anything for $5. Here is an article on fiverr.
